Big Bad Wolf and Twain's Tales-Sparrow 2008Sparrow announces auditions for Noah's Ark and Other Stories. A production by the members of the church to benefit the Community Action Committee's benevolence efforts at First Baptist Church of Aransas Pass. A production that invites all of our neighbors of the Coastal Bend to Audition and be a part of this spectacle highlighting stories of the bible and in those in the public realm that delight children and teach good values in story and song.
Sparrow alumnae and church families have received special invitations for this one day event at the end of September. Open casting call for the greater community is scheduled for Tuesday, July 26. Times for children auditioning as story tellers and extras are at 3 pm. Vocalists and adults who wish to interview as storytellers, actors, and extras will be auditioned at 7 pm. A festival of tiny story stages will feature a storyteller (we will double cast each stage to rotate people) & costumed characters telling their stories to hundreds of children who will pass from stage to stage. The story is about 10 minutes long and then it begins again. At the end of the day the finale presentation will include great songs from Broadway such as songs from Joseph, Big River and others. Families are encouraged to audition together. All children under the age of 8 will be considered only, if they have a parent with their story group as a chaperone.
Churches are being invited to create their own bible story for us as well & participate in our Joseph Chorus. We will need many, many speaking and non speaking characters and talented vocalists for the finale performance. If you are auditioning in the evening as a vocalist, please bring your own accompaniment cd ( song of your choice), plus a resume and a headshot (if you have one). We are looking for Daniels, Noahs, Jonahs, Josephs, Abrahams, and other bible characters and extras. Everyone is welcome to audition; all children will be auditioning for placement in a character group, no talent is required unless they are trying out as a vocalist. Rehearsals will be held in Aransas Pass, Corpus Christi and the San Patricio area in August, but rehearsals in September will be at First Baptist of Aransas Pass at the venue site. It is an indoor event.
