Wow!  Sheltered Sparrow is in it's nest at Journey Church and ready to kick off big events starting in September.   Remember this is a blog so you should read back in posts to see more and know all you ever wanted to know about Sheltered Sparrow Productions in Texas.

Sept 9th is orientation for Storyteller workshops at Journey Church, IH 37 at Callicoate Rd in Calallen.   Orientation is at 2pm and it's free an open to the public.  Guest story teller is Amanda Evans, author of Sadie the Paper Crown Princess.  Tamara Merson, the Cowardly Lion will pose for pics with your kids.  

Saturday, Sept 15 10 a.m. to noon, first workshop of 5 featuring improve with instructor Tammy Clark.  Workshop open to ages 8-88.  $50 fee can be applied to a child's participation in our big Joseph production.  Other workshops include character analysis, articulation, choreography of movement, Being in Voice for oral presentation, acting.  Great UIL preparation.

AUDITIONS:   Joseph and His Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.  Auditions 2 pm Saturday , Sept 22nd.  People 6-15 arrive at 1:30 to register.  Callbacks and second chance by appt. auditions are at 2 pm Sunday, Sept 23rd.   Michael Kris Perez is the musical director of this awesome Andrew llloyd Weber, Tim Rice production licensed by Rogers and Hammerstein.
Children 6-15 pay tuition to be part of this production.  Leads and Adults do not pay tuition.
All children enrolled in our rehearsal workshops will have an onstage role.  

Rehearsals will be one night a week in Oct, and Nov, we break for Christmas month, come back in January for dress rehearsal and run the first two weekends in February.   We won't conflict with the 4H stock shows in Sinton and Robstown.  email pjciao@hotmail.com for a list of available roles.  We need men and boys vocalists and not, dancers and may young people for the Joe Chorus.  This is Broadway at it's best. A wonderfully funny version of a favorite Old Testament Story.   Call PJ at 361 547 2585.   Limited scholarships are available and there are many reasons to claim a discount.  Those discounts can be found on ccdaily.com, the entertainment calendar.   A good idea to apply for scholarships right away .  We are pre registering children now.  This production will be directed by PJ and Peter Brown, Asst. Director Grayson Bearden, Musical Advisor, Jane Cruse Bearden.    Any child who has paid $50 for the storyteller workshops starting Sept 15th may apply that fee to Joseph tuition.  Costumes will be included in the tuition fees.
